Write 2 different essays with separate materials I would attach below.
each essay should be 3 pages for the 1st one, and 2 pages for the other, on 12pt double-spaced.
1. Read and think about Adam Smith’s and John Dewey’s arguments about the relationship between education and work. Annotate your texts, and be prepared to share your annotations. Why and how do they each value education? What do they think education is good for? The first two pages of your 1A should be in essay format, describing your understanding of their positions, and raising any questions you might have about the texts. The third page should be a short response explaining HOW you went about annotating your work, identifying the author’s claims, and summarizing their ideas. 3 pages.
2. Consider the pieces by Jones, Conard, and the Pew Research center and describe the kinds of arguments each makes about the value of a liberal arts education. What different characteristics can you see in each? What kinds of evidence do they use to make these arguments? Which do you find more convincing, and why? 2 pages.
2 files named “Adam Smith” and “John Dewey” are for the 1st essay, and one file named “Liberal Arts…” and 2 links below are for the second one.
